The most authentic portraits result from a collaboration between the photographer and the subject of the photograph. Whether the subject is posing for, reacting to, or simply disregarding the presence of the photographer, he or she has moments of giving something to the camera. The photographer’s job to see what is being offered and to catch it in an image that is also satisfying to look at. I welcome input and ideas from my clients either before or during the session and, of course, will offer my own.

Portraits for business and professional use require a somewhat different approach. People requesting this service are generally looking for a crisp, straightforward portrait that presents them as they wish to be seen by clients, colleagues, or agents.

Portrait sessions are as long as an hour to allow a relaxed pace and time for changes of clothing, location, or mood. Your portraits can be taken with color or black & white film, or with both. Seventy-two shots are taken during a standard session, with the option of adding more for an additional fee.
